Unstress the Tantric Way

Feeling stressed right now? Would you kindly take a deep breath, take a deep inhalation and whoosh it all out strongly through the mouth and hold the exhale for a short time. Lower your shoulders, drop the stress, just let it fall away from you. Take another deep breath and see if there is a little bit more clear space opened up..... but this time visualize how you would feel without any problems.
That's probably starting to feel a little bit better. It might be good to do later also to train yourself to use an easy and effective remedy. Letting out your breath like this acts as an escape valve; it also releases some of the energetic support which is fastening our problems to us. When we are clenching, that can actually hold the problem in place. What we need to do is decompress and send away that energetic strut. Thinking about the problem will be hard when there is no cushion for it to sit on. This is Tantric yogic breath. ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ *********

Come spend late summer at Lotus Lake Buddhist Center. The pond and sunset.

These Hungarian peppers are ripening on the table at Norbu while the hottest ones will go for fermenting and hot sauce. The really red ones will get sliced into rings. We are sitting on the deck right now cutting up huge rainbow peppers after going swimming in the pond. Many quarts of mixed vegies are being pressure canned probably into the late night tonight... Anyway the breeze is fantastic while working on the peppers on the deck.

Lovely still evening.... what a blessing to be at Lotus Lake Buddhist Center. So rich atmosphere and conducive for meditation and deep contemplation. Picture is the buddha in the rose garden. Bench made by Zopa in the spring for relaxing in the so pleasant August evening. **************

Student: You explained that your inner Domo Geshe lineage beings remember being male and now you are experiencing being a female.
Rinpoche: Yes, I used to need to remind myself, or we reminded ourselves, of our ordinary name, and also where we were living. Yogic stability also means it is important to have a stable everyday personality. I am the ninth Domo Geshe, I know my name is Tara Wangchuk and that we are here at the Hermitage.
We could call this compassion's strategy for being of benefit to others. For example, if you went to work in a different office and were greeted at the door by being told ‘Now you will be known by such-and-such name. Now your name isn’t Sally, it’s George. To work here, you will be called George from now on. You are not going to sit at this desk, you will sit at this desk over here.”
You say okay because your want to work here, thinking 'You can call me George or anything you want'…and that is really how we feel. We adapt to the environment in which we live. However, while sitting at the new desk, we see issues and problems that we are expected to deal with, sometimes we still forget and think, ‘I’m Sally, I’m so-and-so’. We are not terribly confused, I am just saying a little bit.
How we would have handled situations in the environment we lived in before…(since this is a not-Tibet place) is in contrast to our present daily life. In contrast to our familiar lives in the monastery, in caves and as Rinpoches…well... to a certain degree, at the beginning it was quite disorienting to tell the truth.
Now we fully understand that we are a nice lady, and that we made this Hermitage. As we continue to build a quality environment here we are more comfortable. One way to feel comfortable in a new environment is to keep things as simple as possible. That is why I keep sending things to the charity thrift store; even too many spoons makes me want to give them away. I keep simplifying until I feel comfortable inside and then move forward from there. ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ **********
