Student: Rinpoche, how would you describe formless realm beings? Rinpoche: Although they do not have manifest bodies, they still are alive. S: How do they expiate their karma? R: They cannot while in that realm. That’s a problem. S: Do they have perceptions? R: They have no perceptions. The formless realm is not that easy for you as a human being to understand because all of your experiences are through body and mind; it is hard to understand being without them.
