Visualization of White Tara

Image
Within the sphere of reality, there appears before you at eye level, a perfect lotus. Inseparable from the nature of love and compassion of all enlightened beings; seated upon this lotus is White Tara. - DGR ---

A Messy Buddhist Bedroom?

Image
A messy bedroom usually indicates disorganized thinking and poor memory in general. However, we can make a determination to keep our personal space tidy as a way to improve the mind. - Domo Geshe Rinpoche

Be Yourself to Yourself!

Say what you mean and mean what you say! This further means that who you are inside, is who you are outside. Beyond this, hold enlightened values so that the whole world benefits from your sincerity. ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ ""Sag was Du meinst und meine was Du sagst! - Domo Geshe Rinpoche --

Are you providing clarity for your inner being today? Let's step aside from personal attachment to what might be inappropriate demands causing pressure and stress for our precious inner being. Relax ....Release... Remember... Entspannen.... Loslassen... Erinnern..."

What We Can Do For Difficult People

Image
Let's hold space for others to change, no matter how difficult they might be! If we form a correct opinion of another persons poor behavior, blaming and shaming them from our mental position will only exacerbate their already unskillful situation. Neither do we pretend that they are okay when they are not, but do what we can to help them! That is how the Buddhas and bodhisattvas can tolerate our delusions while helping us!

Taking Responsibility for Our Actions as A Spiritual Practice

Image
Taking responsibility for our actions is an important aspect of Buddhist refuge in the Dharma: the teachings of the liberating path that eradicate suffering. It frees us from our own lies and guilt making us suitable to to hear the dharma with a clean heart. If we cannot trust ourself, we cannot trust the wisdom of th e fully enlightened sages. - Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---

The Lama Healers

Image
When I came out of Chinese prison back in 1962 and arrived in exile to India, we rinpoches and lamas were told that from then on, lamas must stop medicine work; only the Tibetan medical doctors they were training could treat people. We were told this, in no uncertain terms, by the exile government. Those of us that were very much involved in healing thought, 'Well, healing is what we do’. However, I continued to do energy healing. I did bodhichitta healing exactly the same way I always did, as well as advising people about diet and different kinds of medicine. Bodhichitta, or higher developed compassion, is what lamas use for medicine. The healer lamas thought it was crazy to only rely on ordinary doctors taking pulses and dispensing herbal medicine. We thought this was wrong, that it is bodhichitta, which heals. Tibetan doctors do quite well with herbal extracts and diagnosing by pulses, but it is not bodhichitta, although they may be working on developing bodhichitta. I do not di...

What Socrates Asked the Buddha

Image
Socrates to the Buddha: As I am only a humble student of life, please explain to me, what is the difference between good and bad? The Buddha to Socrates: There is no intrinsic difference in the awakened state as good and bad are equally illusory. However, what is truly bad is in the nature of deep suffering and the weight of that suffering prevents awakening to the non suffering state. True good is devoid of the potential to harm self or others, is nearly weightless and therefor is in the preparation for awakening. The more valuable answer is the latter.
