Abusing Initiation and other Buddhist musings

Image
Now a days many receive authentic transmission but abuse it or throw it away like garbage; ask His Holiness the Dalai Lama what he thinks of that. For shame!  The empowerment done with highest wishes and received with promise to fulfill it  by practicing is often one sided! In that case, it would be better to go to an empowerment with a bag of popcorn to experience the entertainment! The damage done by abuse of initiation living energies will cause the decay and damage the sacred lineages held by Tibetans from the time of Lord Buddha to this present day - faster than any Chinese prison! Further, it damages the future of the student by breaking promises. The bigger battle for the contemporary initiating lama is the struggle to help those students who receive the precious diamond of initiation and introduction to vast awakened benefit living presence and practice rather than those who discard it as a whim! Do you know that you can make buddhas suffer? Due to their compassion,...

Tantric Group Meditations

Image
Nothing so restful as meditation... ok, sometimes too restful! Tantric group meditations are different than most invitations to join in spiritual groups because of the consecrated permission; receiving initiation into a particular practice. That is activated by the mantra, a personal commitment to practice steadily and the initiation process. These are the keys that will cause dramatic change, a directed transformation for those who practice sincerely. Without having those elements, others who are present can meditate with their own practice while sitting in community of Tantric spiritual practitioners. Even those in the same sangha or community do not recite the practice of a deity that has not been given in initiation. The uninitiated are also welcome to experience and be inspired by the energies of those who are reciting and activating their tantric practice while they are in community. ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ "Tantrische Gruppenmeditation unterscheidet sich von...

Life Eternal of the Yogis

Image
Life Eternal is a Tantric yogic level of great accomplishment. However, there is more, there is more, there is more! ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ "Das Ewige Leben ist eine Ebene großer Vollendung im tantrischen Yoga. Es gibt jedoch noch mehr, es gibt noch mehr, es gibt noch mehr!" - Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---" We have become wrongly imprisoned in ordinary mind and body. Since deciding that we wish to be free, we sought initiation and introduction to liberating deity by the lama. We do this in order to heal from samsaric confusion; whole, free, and fit to become a member of enlightened society.~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ "Wir wurden irrigerweise im gewöhnlichen Geist und Körper gefangen.

Is Tantric Purity an Oxymoron?

Image
Someone without an understanding of the suffering that arises the desire to be free cannot be a candidate for higher training. Even if they receive a highest yoga tantra initiation and blessing, it would be like pouring a cup of pure water into an ocean of saltwater! The pure substance immediately disperses into their briny disposition if the student does not have a suitable nature and good motivation. It is useless for the receiver and the pure water can no longer be drunk. It becomes overwhelmed by salt. More advanced tantric practitioners are capable of holding their remaining salty ocean away from their pure transmissions and carefully utilize blessings and initiations. Since they are not perfected, they still have somewhat of a briny outlook and need to pray for a pure practice. Still, many unpurified dysfunctions such as anger, and wrong views are lurking in their minds, even though they have been purifying for a long time and need to keep that part of their practice pure. The ad...

Buddhist Initiation and Commitments

Image
I have been careful about giving initiations because I do not want students to feel overwhelmed by multiple commitments they might be unable to accomplish. However, I myself had many practice commitments that I did daily recitation. In the Tibetan tradition, in the old days, we made many promises to do commitment practices and upheld our commitments, not just by reciting but being involved energetically in the practices. Now, in this busy modern world, many Tibetan Buddhism practitioners receive advanced teachings, and might make commitments they cannot fulfill. Perhaps there are simply not enough hours in their day to do all of the practices that they sincerely promised. From the side of the student, part of the initiation process is to make genuine commitment to accomplish the practice goals. Otherwise, you are taking it as a blessing. More and more people  actually are taking initiations as a blessing but vowing a commitment because of excitement/enthusiasm. There ofte...
