"Buddha" has Two Meanings

Buddha has two meanings.
One is the Pali word for awakened, meaning not lost in illusion. The other is the title of a person who is awakened. This is not complicated as this information can be found with ease.
The teachings of a buddha, such as Lord Buddha Shakyamuni, are given tremendous respect, as they are a formula for awakening. The person and their teachings are the same, as vast wisdom filters through a specific mind to help those trapped by the illusory world. We pay the same respect to the teacher as the teaching.
When real worship becomes misunderstood, the confusion regarding respect and receptivity to real change will cause the sleepy and the asleep to twist in their bedsheets but they lose the pathway to the awakened state. ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~
