Looking for a Way to Become Enlightened

How does a person become enlightened? A truthful answer might be “I do not know.” You would think that would be the whole answer, however now we need to make effort to discover what kind of "I do not know?' we are saying... "I don’t know, lets all give up and go have a beer?" On the other hand, are we talking about “I don’t know, other people can try if they like, but I’m not going to, because it sounds too hard.“ Could it be instead, “I don’t know, I should try to find out.”
If you are internally “ripe” for awakening, now is the time to find a good teacher because helping others is in the structure of the dharma of sharing in the transformational process. Find a spiritual teacher, but as there are many types of worldly spiritual paths, not just any spiritual teacher will do, find an enlightened spiritual teacher. Not only find someone who is already enlightened, but now find someone willing to personally guide you and show you how to become enlightened. Let us think of a historical character like this. That would be Lord Buddha Shakyamuni, a world teacher. He actually did require some coercion to teach, thinking it could not be taught, although after some time, he became willing to teach.
The Buddha found a way to speak to the masses, touching them deeply, so they understood the value of the path of dharma. Because he had deep understanding and the concepts he was relating to others were abstract, they were difficult to express verbally. However, He was able to interpret inner concepts so that people actually could understand. The two levels of teaching were; the general public received one type of teaching to increase their faith and joy in the dharma, but the individuals He trained in the actual practice of inner and outer dharma of transformation also received personal advice and inner guidance. ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~


„Wie wird jemand erleuchtet? Eine ehrliche Antwort könnte sein: ‚Ich weiß es nicht.’ Du könntest meinen, das sei die ganze Antwort, aber wir müssen uns anstrengen herauszufinden, was für eine Art von ‚Ich weiß nicht’ das ist. Sagen wir:’Ich weiß es nicht, lasst uns aufgeben und ein Bier trinken gehen?’ Oder sagen wir damit:’Ich weiß es nicht, andere Leute können ja versuchen, es herauszufinden. Ich werde aber nicht tun, weil es sich zu schwierig anhört.’ Oder könnte es stattdessen so sein:’Ich weiß es nicht, ich sollte versuchen, die Antwort zu finden.’
Wenn Du innerlich reif für das Erwachen bist, dann ist es Zeit einen guten Lehrer zu finden, denn anderen zu helfen, ist ein Teil der Struktur des Dharma, wobei man seinen Prozess der Transformation mit anderen teilt. Finde einen spirituellen Lehrer. Aber da es verschiedene weltliche spirituelle Pfade gibt, ist irgendein spiritueller Lehrer nicht gut genug. Finde einen erleuchteten spirituellen Lehrer. Nicht nur einen, der schon erleuchtet ist, sondern jemand der dazu bereit ist, Dich persönlich zu führen und Dir zu zeigen, wie man erleuchtet wird. Lass uns an einen historischen Charakter dieser Art denken. Das wäre der Buddha Shakyamuni, ein Weltlehrer. Es war tatsächlich einige Überzeugungskraft nötig, bis er andere lehrte, weil er glaubte, man könnte dies nicht vermitteln. Aber nach einiger Zeit war er zum Lehren bereit.
Der Buddha fand einen Weg mit der Masse zu sprechen und sie tief zu berühren, so dass sie den Wert des Dharmapfads verstand. Da sein Verständnis sehr tief war und die Konzepte, die er vermittelte sehr abstrakt, waren sie nur schwer in Worte zu fassen. Er war jedoch fähig innere Konzepte so zu interpretieren, dass sie die Leute tatsächlich verstehen konnten. Er benutzte zwei Ebenen der Unterweisung: Die Öffentlichkeit erhielt Lehren, die ihren Glauben und ihre Freude am Dharma vermehrten. Aber seine indiviuellen Schüler, die er in der eigentlichen Praxis des inneren und äußeren Dharmas der Transformation unterrichtete, erhielten auch persönliche Ratschläge und innere Führung.“ – Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---
