Science vs Buddhism and other Buddhist musings.....

Image
Gain mastery over your energy body and you will become an accomplished yogin. However, most that are capable are too lazy to begin and don't believe that it's so important. The accomplishments or siddhas of inner yogas are how to benefit ot hers. Before that, one must have bodhichitta in place. That is not a siddha. Vorher muss man schon Bodhichitta besitzen.

Judging Others, and other Buddhist musings

Image
Many feel that judging others is wrong and should be avoided at all cost. However, judgement (a cultivated discrimination that knows right from wrong), is a practice of virtue that brings us closer to peace and transformation. Sharing a judgment that is helpful would be teaching, but using it to harm or control others would be abusive....... however not using it to right a wrong would be negligen ce. Knowing the nuances and using them properly is a function of correct discrimination.

Sticky Karma, Anger and Bodhisattvas

Image
Karma's like peanut brittle. Not the nuts but the sticky part. Not only is the sweetness addictive but it's like a matrix holding us to rebirth in cyclic existence by compulsion. So, we want the sugar, are addicted to it, and the nuts of activities keep coming at us. Karma isn't actions or even the results, it's the sticky addictive matrix hanging it all together!

Shifting Patterns of Awareness in the Human Being

Image
There are quantum shifts in awareness, (the alert state of our life force process) that we already possess. For example if the body is injured, awareness jumps to the body, and we often become non-thinking, only physically reactive. In effect, our life force become pain, pain, pain! The opposite occurs in orgasm, awareness floods to the physical, again becoming non-thinking. The mind can also demand the full portion of awareness; for example, a pleasurable task or even an engrossing movie can make us unaware of the body. We can forget to eat or even sleep. The suffering of mental illness is fed by the grasping of the mind to itself like an octopus in distress, unable to release its hold on awareness. The subconscious mind is an inner or more subtle mind than the ordinary mind that also has pleasure and pain desires, which drags primary awareness (life force) to its needs. An example of this is the sleep and dream state. There are even more inner minds and more development needed. T...

The Grid, Flying in Meditation and other musings

Image
All realms where living beings exist are held together in a complex structure created and based on the needs of their inhabitants. Realms of humans, gods and lower beings, as well as the animal, hungry ghost and hell realms, arise from caus es and conditions that facilitate their manifestation from energetic grid models interior to their outer manifestation. In previous teachings on how to be more effective doing world peace prayers, as well as teachings regarding how the world actually exists, I have explained how energetic grids act as transitional supports for vibrational manifestation. Our particular realm has a certain kind of energetic grid that is a pre-manifestation, or subtler energetic version, of the human realm that we recognize the ordinary world we live in. In the same way, in other realms, other structures operate as the support for the different kinds of manifestation of that particular perceptual realm. Because everything that has form is actually empty ...

Logic, Trust and Influences....

Image
While defending your viewpoint, you might say, "Well, it's partly like this, and partly like that." This is called, in logical terms, no penetration of the subject by your view. This is like an inept surgeon trying to do heart surgery accid entally cutting a number of different organs, but saying, "Oh well. At least the heart got repaired." It doesn't help when you are unclear because it's mixed up, causing further confusion. Correct analysis is like the sword of Manjushri, driven straight into the argument to clarify what you really mean.

8 Auspicious Symbols and other dharma musings

Image
No one is free from the sufferings of feeling unsatisfied… even the rich live in a kind of poverty within samsara. Not only are all those that are not fully awakened in a kind of existential dreamlike prison, but they also will experience the effects of aging, and poverty of different kinds. All unenlightened beings have difficulties to various degrees, but it never fall below a base line of suff ering. This is what must be transcended, the machinery of suffering! Focusing special attention in our meditation practice on the elderly, on poverty, and on illness give us insight about manifest qualities of suffering. We can further understand that different kinds of suffering can be heaped one upon the other; even the sick can be in jail! Many of our elderly are in poverty and even the imprisoned could be elderly, etc. While we are arrogantly healthy and helping others in more difficult circumstance in our daily life, we should remember that others are presently...
