" Everything costs something... war, love, food, public infrastructure, peace, education... everything! How the statistics of that cost are manipulated is pure politics! By giving weight to certain statistics while withholding others costs can make even the cost of beneficial programs or attitudes seem intolerable. Logic and compassion are common sense partners in considering the many kinds of cos ts we as individuals or as a society are willing to spend: time, money, change in attitudes, shift in power and so much more. Don't let politics ruin your life! ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Alles kostet etwas... der Krieg, die Liebe, Essen, die öffentliche Infrastruktur, der Frieden, Bildung... alles! Disenchanted, Bodhichitta Blues and Cheerful for No Reason....

Some spiritual people feel disenchanted with the world by not getting what they want even thought they flexed their spiritual muscles to get it, or actually getting what they wanted but it's still not exactly right for them. As a result, they might generate a kind of calling to their own end of life that, as practitioners, they actually do not have permission to do. We each are expected to care and guard carefully the bestowals, blessings and realizations that we have experienced or received. Whims, such as, “I’m just sick of this world,” or “The teachers of old were right; this place is just a horror. I just want to get out of it" are a vacillation between long life to become a better practitioner, and calling the end of life because you hate samsara and what it has not provided for you! The middling understanding of appreciation of precious human life means that we no longer indulge personal comfort in how we feel about samsara; in fact, we must choose ...

Buddhist Contemplations on Balance, Impatience and the Life Force Mind

Image
It is essential for each of us to both appreciate and cultivate deeper spiritual balance. It will not come by learning or doing, but by holding skillful dharma perceptions during meditation without ordinary mind getting in the way. At deeper levels there will develop a precious accumulation of higher perceptions, eventually causing an absolutely new state of mind to dissolve ordinary mind skillful ly. We will then no longer be suffering, ordinary human beings, but hold the perceptions of enlightened being. There is no difference between having the full perceptions of enlightened being, and being an enlightened being. There are no other identifying marks other than having the nature of awakened being in order to be an enlightened being! These perceptions are not located in the intellectual mind, but where perceptions of reality are held, in the energetic being, in deep nature. ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Es ist unerlässlich für jeden von un...

Quantum Realities and Studies in Consciousness

Image
We can compare quantum realities with studies in consciousness to gain knowledge of various kinds of realities. Let's think about discrete quantum realities, each with a self-preserving structure. One can shift from one set to another such as the macro world of appearances and its underlying subatomic structure by using technology an d even mathematical theory. Consciousness can make similar shifts in perceptual structures because the mind is potentially flexible. It can occupy new sets of perceptions with effort, such as tantric visualizations and meditations. I have felt for some time that some mental disorders, such as schizophrenia and drug induced mental breakdown, or conditions such as some forms of autism, are disturbances of mixed or overlapping levels of consciousness. I call those mental illnesses that have been present for the entire life, a partial birth into the human realm. ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ "Wir können Quantenrealitäten mit Bewusstseinsst...

Dharma Teachings are Unusual

Image
Consciousness is the life force of the perceptions ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~ "Das Bewusstsein ist die Lebenskraft der Wahrnehmungen" - Domo Geshe Rinpoche --- Dharma teachings are unique because they point outside of ordinary mind from within the arena of ordinary mind. There are both inner and outer meanings present in authentic dharma transmission with cascades of nuances influencing that meaning. In a concise manner, authentic teachings reflect and support correct meaning. Outer dharma ...teachings are like the ink on a page while valid mental constructs are stimulated by the configurations of letters and words.

Orientation in Space of the Innate View

Image
This morning I was watching the predawn sky while visiting a friend in New Mexico. The beauty of the scenery framing the dawn; mountains, olive tree and even the gold cat sitting in the tree between me and the dawning sky could not distract me from my primary energetic need to orient myself. Remembering for the millionth time that the sun comes up in the east, I thought, “If that is in the east then I must be in the west.” An unusual feeling flowed over me like an inner mental stumble caused the entire dawn watch to fade as I turned my attention toward the cause of that energetic shift. My training in yoga and logic caused a different dynamic to arise, a studied curiosity that is without emotional content. In other words I actually did not feel a desire to know but compelled to review. As a human being, my sense of direction orientation is centered here in my consciousness. If that is so, then truly I can say that the sun is in the east just below the horizon. However, the task of orie...
