Disenchanted, Bodhichitta Blues and Cheerful for No Reason....

Some spiritual people feel disenchanted with the world by not getting what they want even thought they flexed their spiritual muscles to get it, or actually getting what they wanted but it's still not exactly right for them. As a result, they might generate a kind of calling to their own end of life that, as practitioners, they actually do not have permission to do.
We each are expected to care and guard carefully the bestowals, blessings and realizations that we have experienced or received. Whims, such as, “I’m just sick of this world,” or “The teachers of old were right; this place is just a horror. I just want to get out of it" are a vacillation between long life to become a better practitioner, and calling the end of life because you hate samsara and what it has not provided for you!
The middling understanding of appreciation of precious human life means that we no longer indulge personal comfort in how we feel about samsara; in fact, we must choose long life. Correct disappointment with the world should be expressed differently by acting as inspiration to continue to improve the basis of our being, so that for the individual practitioner, this world becomes a pure land, it’s actual nature. Then this world will be the best place to practice dharma. If you don’t like the world, and think this world is rotten, then this is strong impetus to change yourself! It is actually not the fault of this world that you see it as putrid because if it was really so bad, it would be a hell for everyone. But it’s not, isn’t that so? ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~

- Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---

"Beyond the amazement that everything is consciousness is settling into the responsibility of the care and cultivation of consciousness that has become individualized in me. ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~

- Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---"
Bodhichitta isn’t the feel-good feeling that you might hope it would be. Arising bodhichitta is a powerful remedy that helps you to obliterate the obstacles that have held you back from your potential. Perhaps it has been a struggle for you to get off your darn knees and stand tall! By following dharma advice we all can develop courage and conviction by standing up for what we actually believe in; this is arising bodhichitta, the preparation stage for altruistic enlightenment.
Many have become beaten down by disappointment and anger, getting plenty of what they hate, not getting what they want, and suffering from attachment and aversion. Giving up is an indication of someone down on their knees, or even lower. Some folks might even have their chin on the ground, hitting bottom.
Let’s think that at a really low point, your only refuge was in bodhichitta. When pride and sophistication are gone, only then do you truly want to change because you can’t take it anymore! By taking refuge in the awakened state, maybe your chin was on the ground, and now you’re on your knees, feeling better. Maybe you’ve been on your knees in a limited position when you should have been standing up. Taking responsibility for your own actions with the motivation of altruistic compassion is not only part of refuge, but also the emerging courage of a potential benefit being. ~ Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~~

- Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---

"A cheerful nature is to be happy for no reason... The bodhisattvas are like this.. otherwise they would not be reliable in their determination to free all living beings."
"In my just previous life, I would often answer sincere dharma questions with "it depend on the person". Now I am able to say it more clearly, "the psycho physical basis of a human being can sustain their individualized unique levels of accomplishment or hold onto possible damage to their inner structural integrity, either enhancing or diminishing how the individual is capable.""
"What a beautiful sunrise! Oranges, pink, purple and blues. The frost on the field is presently reflecting the sky; it is purple. It's transience is part of the beauty. Now the sky is lightning, more yellow while the old barn across the field now displays it's faded red color. Everything is in a fluid state of change; we cannot cling to others or the world any more than we can cling to a sunrise."
