Aging and Refuge

This morning I looked in the mirror to assess the changes brought on by aging. Yes... so far, so good. That does not mean I look younger than expected. That means that the signs of aging are progressing as expected. Not happy, not sad... This is dharma. ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~

Ja... so weit, so gut. - Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---

The atmosphere of real refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha cannot be gained by three halfhearted mechanical recitations of the refuge formula in the morning and evening. Real refuge that has been cultivated by study, meditation, and logic will interpenetrate and surround you in an aura of new strength and self-confidence. You will feel as though you could do anything! You could go anywhere. This is the kind of person we want to be, sturdy and alert, not shriveled down and needing to be artificially pumped up to feel good and accomplish important tasks. We want to be alive and unafraid! ~Domo Geshe Rinpoche ~~~~
- Domo Geshe Rinpoche ---
